Will you use cPanel for encrypting email?

Well! Email encryption works for you to protect your messages from being sent to unauthorized people. You would often hear the word “public key” which plays important role in encrypting the messages.

This public key secures the messages and the recipient would decrypt them using the private key. So, here in email encryption, we are using two keys such as public key and private key. cPanel supports one major encryption scheme called “GnuPG” (GNU privacy guard). In the background, some would drive public keys to encrypt messages right! Yes! GnuPG is software that is open-source and available for all users.

To protect information such as sensitive ones, we recommend using GnuPG which holds two key processes public key and private key. It is being defined by RFC4880 allows the standard for executing PGP or OpenPGP.

In this article, we are going to use algorithms of GnuPG cryptography and the creation of email encryption:

Step 1:
Go to your cPanel account and then go to section “email”.

Step 2: Tap on the icon “encryption” and so it shows a new interface in front of you.

First field: Start entering your name

Second field: Enter the email address

Third field: You can enter any comments or nickname

Fourth field: Enter the key password

Fifth field: Type the same password in the fifth field to confirm the one which you enter above

Sixth field: This field shows the intensity of the password you entered. It is better to say “Strength”.

Seventh field: Here, you can set the expiration date for your password. You can enter days count, week count, month count and year count.

Eight fields: Enter the key size 4096 or 2048. Moreover, use the largest key size for protecting your information. It doesn’t mean a small key size won’t protect but a large one is better.

Tap on the button “Generate key” which may take some time to get a result.

Step 3: By now, you have generated the key. You can start importing the key into cPanel. Don’t touch the private key because you can’t import it.

Next tap on the button “Import key”.

Step 4: You will get open with a new interface now. The public key is present inside the “paste the GPG or PGP data” so start copying it.

You need to copy the rows of header and footer in the public key. Again, tap on the button “Import”.

Here, your encryption of the email process is got over.

Step 5: Go to the interface of encryption, start accessing the activation key list.

If you want to access or view the private or public key tap on the button “View”. Or else, if you want to delete the GnuPG key tap on the button “Delete”. Whenever you are deleting the keys, it asks you the confirmation before deleting it. Tap on the button “yes” if you want to delete it.

Use the technique of public-key cryptography for the best result in email encryption. So, stop worrying about the email encrypted messages.
