If you are getting error “Webmail Shows Internal Server Error: User is Over Quota.” while using webmail then it means your disk is full. In this case you have to manually delete the data or you have to take back up of your files locally which are the best option. Let’s see it in details that how can we solve this problem.

Solution 1 : When you are getting this error you have to take the backup of your data into another folder. You have to follow these commands :

 root@server~[#] cd /var/cpanel/overquota

root@server [/var/cpanel/overquota]# mv username username-bak
NOTE : At the place of username you have to use your actual “cPanel username”

Now login into your webmail account, you won’t get any error.

Solution 2: The above method is temporary but if you actually need to solve this problem then here are some steps which you can follow. Let’s see what they are.

  • You are getting this error just because your disk space is full so the best option is to remove unwanted files or folders or download them from your server. You can easily remove the files or folder though FTP or cpanel.
  • If you need to solve this error immediately then you can simply increase your disk space quota by upgrade your hosting account OR contact your hosting provider for this. It can definitely solve your problem.
Solution 3: If you are getting the “Internal server error 500 user is over quota cPanel” error the above methods are not working for your then at last you can check this method to resolve the issue and you will surely get the resolution.

After making changes in cpanel quota, if you still not able to login into your webmail account then you can remove cpanel “overquota” file manually or you can also rename the overquota file and your webmail will again started working.
