Converting the domain to the same cPanel account won’t be a bigger task but moving to another cPanel is entirely different. In this article, we show you how to convert the addon domain to the same cPanel account.
To migrating the services from one end to another end as well as for the same end. Before doing any changes, kindly take backup without fail. Hopefully, CodeGuard helps to work on automatic backup.
Let’s start the process!
Step 1: Make a download of the addon domain on your computer. Take database backups of your choice.
Step 2: Go to the folder “new cPanel’s public_html”. You would have taken the download of the addon domain right? So, make the download get uploaded in the folder created newly.
Step 3: To the cPanel, just make restore the backup of the database.
Step 4: If the server has both old and new cPanel, from the old one move the addon domain to the new cPanel which is found under the icon of the addon domain.
Step 5: Move to the new cPanel and tap on the icon “addon domain”.
Step 6: You have the option “New Domain Name”, just enter the name of the addon domain.
Step 7: Go to document root, start entering the /public_html/subfolder/.
Add the name you created in step 3.
Step 8: Don’t forget to fill out the form of remainder. Now, tap on the button “add domain”.
Step 9: In case, if the new and old servers are on different servers, you need to keep on updating the addon domain name nameserver.
