How to change the Windows 10 network type from Public to Private

In windows 10 when you try to connect to the network at the first time then it will automatically set on public. It’s the best option to save your computer by invisible it from other networks. Whenever you try to connect your PC to a public network like hotel wifi, shopping, train etc then always keep it default and whenever you try to connect this with a home network to share any type of files then keep your network private, so another network will easily connect your Computer.

You can change your windows 10 PC network by following steps given below. By following these steps you can keep your network public to private and private to public.

• Find current network type:

First right click on the bottom right corner of the taskbar and select “Network and sharing center” and then open it. Here you can see your current selected network.

• Select network from public to private:

To select network or change network first click on windows button and then select the setting option then click on “Network and the internet”. After that, you can see an option of “Ethernet” then select this and click on “network connection” icon.

When you click on “network connection” icon you get into “Find device and content” then turn on the “Find device button”. You can see that your network location will automatically change to “Private”


Change your network from private to public:

To change your network type "private" to the "public" you can simply turn off the “Find device and content”.
